Miss Elwind: can you please tell me what is going on!!! Why is everyone in front of old Marshal’s place? What is going on!
Dr Herbert: Now Miss Elwind just calm down.
Miss Elwind: then tell me what is happening in front of this old creepy house. I am head of the advisory council of this neighborhood and I demand to know just what is going on here.
Dr Herbert: Now Elsa just calm down a minute and let me explain
Miss Elwind: Dr Herbert you call me Miss Elwind I never have liked people calling me by my first name and you know that.
Dr Herbert: just a prank that’s all. Miss Putle was walking down the street when she saw the window on the second floor of the marshals place shatter as if something was through out of it. She went to see what it was ad there was the mark of a body on the ground in the dirt with blood stains all around the impression but no body.
Miss Elwind: well get cops to clean that mess up and get everyone away from that old house its dangerous.
Dr Herbert: Miss Elwind the cops don’t need to clean this up what do think they are your maid service. It’s a body print in the dirt, some broken glass and some red clothing dye on the ground there is no crime here

Explained Dr Herbert to Miss Elwind with a small chuckle. Later the next day as Dr Herbert came down the stairs to his house to read the newspaper his brother charley was in his kitchen drinking a cup of coffee and reading the newspaper. The headline of the day “hassle at the marshals” Dr. Herbert sat down at the table and was talking to his brother when his brother started to talk about the marshal’s place
Charley: So Herb do you believe that old legion about the marshal’s place?
Dr Herbert: What legion are you talking about?
Charley: what you’ve never heard the story about that old place.
Dr Herbert: no what about that old place
Charley: well ……………it’s haunted
Charley looked his brother in the eyes with a face that was pail white and scared to even be talking about the house. Charley stared at his brother for a few seconds and shrugged his shoulders as if to change the subject.
Dr Herbert: Ok what the story, since you brought it up
Charley just looked up and shrugged his shoulders and then went back to reading the news paper.
Dr Herbert: Charley well what’s the story, here you are talking about the house and now your just going to read that paper tell me the story.
Charley: well you know the house has been deserted for 18 years after the murder of the whole family
Dr Herbert put down his coffee and looked at his brother with a look of interest.
Charley: ya it was a dark night much lick last night it was raining hard that night. Mr. and misses Marshal were home that night along with there daughter Elsa Marshal. They never found out who it was but someone had snuck into the house that night and pushed Mr. Marshal out of the second floor window and he fell to his death. ….. Misses marshal poor Misses Marshal she was stabbed to death in the kitchen with a knife. No one really knows what happened to Elsa Marshal she was reported missing, they believe the killer kidnapped her. There were search party’s for months but she was never found. They did find her clothes in the woods about a half a mile away from the house though they were covered in blood and they found a shovel near by. Investigators dinged that place up for months and never found a body. And now they say it’s the little girl’s spirit that haunts the house trying to warn people away. To this day they still don’t know who did it all though everybody knows its had to be the old grounds keeper. Grumpy old man who hated the marshals, He was never convicted, there was never enough evidence on him. He still leakers around the house tending the grounds.
Dr Herbert: Charley what are you trying to do scare me, you know I don’t believe in spooks
Charley: well then since your not scared how about you just go and spend tomorrow night at the house prove your little brother wrong.
Dr Herbert: ooohhh don’t be ridicules
Charley: I Knew it you are scared
Dr Herbert: I am not
Charley: then do it
Dr Herbert: fine its just an old house
Later that day Dr Herbert was walking home and decided to go and pass by the marshal’s house. As he was passing he saw the grounds keeper tending the gardens he looked up at Dr Marshal and gave him an evil glare with his old and tied face then he turned and walked away. The next day Dr Herbert decided to spend the night at the house. It was a little after 8:00 pm when he headed over to the house when he got here he walked up to the front porch and raddled the door handle. The door opened as he turned away.
Dr. Herbert: what it must have just been stuck, yep that’s it the door was stuck.
The door slammed shut as he entered through the door way. He walked through the large entry hall coved I spider webs and furnisher with white sheets all around the room. He proceed to the dining room where he walked into a spider web and quickly brushed it off of him spiting and brushing it off. The kitchen was the next room he entered. As the turned the corner he looked down at the white floor and couldn’t believe what he saw. A large puttle of blood on the floor that looked to be fresh. As he was looking down he heard a yell from up stairs and then the front widow on the second floor shattered. Freighted he dropped his flashlight and ran for the front door the door was open. Just as he was about to run out side the door slammed shut and locked.
All of the sudden all of the clocks in the house started chiming. And Dr Herbert ran for the back door just as he opened the back door he tripped off the back porch steps and got up and he found his self face to face with an elderly gentlemen.
Old man: something wrong, Son you look like you seen a ghost
Dr Herbert: come on we can’t stay here that house .. It’s haunted
Old man: There’s nothing wrong with that house that the truth won’t fix.
Dr Herbert: What are you talking about, the Truth?
Old Man: come on back inside there’s something I think you should see.
The old man leads Dr Herbert back into the house and up the stair to the second floor balcony. During the climb up the stairs Dr Herbert began to feel uneasy as he noticed that the old man seemed to pass right through the cobwebs, that cover the entire stair while he himself was covered from head to toe with cobwebs while the old man hadn’t a single cob web on him as they reached the top of the stairs. Upon reaching the second floor the old man turned right and headed down the hall and look back as he entered a room on his right. Dr Herbert ran down the hall to the entrance of the Library where he saw the old man being pushed out of the window by a younger girl. He jumped forward and said no as the girl turned and looked at him then faded away. Just then he recognized the face of the girl as a much younger Elsa Elwind. Or as she used to be known Elsa Marshal. Dr Herbert ran down the steps to the front door of the house. As he ran out of the house he heard the voice of the old man repeating over and over “let the truth be known”.
